Alum Helps Create Masters in Bioethics Program in Ghana

The University of Ghana's School of Public Health recently announced its new Masters of Science in Bioethics. The first program of its kind in the country and one of the few across the African continent.  It was created, in part, by our alum Amos Laar, PhD, MPH, MA.

"I characterize the catalyst – the New York University–University of Ghana Research Integrity Training Program as the right partnership at the right time. Let’s see this as a Global Health win-win-win. More of such are needed in the continent as stakeholders from both Global North and Global South support transitioning from 'bioethics training programs for Africa' to a more sustainable 'bioethics training programs in Africa.' As an alumnus of the Center for Bioethics, the Center's contribution to this has not been lost on me."  - Amos Laar, PhD, MPH, MA, Associate Professor, Population, Family, & Reproductive Health, University of Ghana
