Summary

Dr. Henriksen began her career as a nurse in pediatrics 25 years ago. Her Ph.D. in Religious Studies from the University of Iowa provided the foundation for both clinical practice and research in ethics. She performs bedside consultation to support patients, their families, and clinical teams in the process of moral deliberation. Her research interests include conflicts of conscience of healthcare providers, proactive strategies to reduce ethical conflict, truthtelling and requests for non-disclosure of medical information. She enjoys teaching about ethics to trainees as well as working clinicians.
