Dismantling Campus Rape Culture
Following the panel of university representatives, student survivors of sexual assault were joined by sexual violence activist Sarah Super and MSA President Abeer Syedah to discuss their experiences and perspectives. Audience participants added to the dialogue during the Q+A session, bringing nuance and reflection to the conversation by sharing opinions as students, advocates, and administrators.
After the panels and audience Q&A, conference participants attended breakout sessions on Bystander Intervention, Trauma-Informed Leadership, and Undoing the Structure of Rape Culture. The conference ended with lunch and follow-up conversations among participants as well as with members of organizations doing work on these issues off-campus who were invited to set up information and resource tables.
The Center for Bioethics will continue to provide opportunities for conversation and action around policy advancements and other ways to continue dismantling rape culture on the University of Minnesota campus
